THE RIGHT QUESTIONS CHANGE THE CONVERSATION.

The value of a clear brief

You manage the building.
We help make sense of
the elevator paperwork.

A controller quotation. A renewal full of exclusions. Two modernization bids that look nothing alike. We organize what is known, identify what is missing, and give you a clear next conversation with your contractor.

Or a desk in your corner.

The person behind the desk

Practical knowledge.
Straight answers.

Founded by Peter Weir, co-owner of Local Elevator in Winnipeg, with hands-on experience in elevator maintenance, repair, and modernization.

We review the documents supplied. When a decision requires a site assessment, an engineer, legal advice, or a regulatory determination, we say so.

A clear affiliation.

Peter has an ownership interest in Local Elevator. We screen requests for conflicts, decline reviews involving its own work, and receive no contractor referral commissions.

Before we start

A few useful answers.

Will you tell us whether a repair is technically necessary?

We explain the basis stated in your paperwork and identify missing support. Documents alone may not establish the cause of a fault or equipment condition. If an on-site assessment is required, we identify that next step.

Can you guarantee savings?

No. The useful outcome is an informed decision, a clearer scope, or a better-defined next step. Sometimes the existing proposal is appropriate.

Do you provide emergency support or inspections?

No. Contact your elevator service provider for outages, safety concerns, or entrapments. We do not authorize continued operation or replace required inspections and testing.

Can you review work anywhere?

We confirm each request's jurisdiction and permitted scope before acceptance. Availability is not assumed nationwide. Requests involving Local Elevator's own work are declined.
